U11 Rep - Langley Wild
U11-Rep teams is an enhanced U11 program, run as a stepping stone to our Rep (Fusion & Xtreme) program that starts in U13. It is a more competitive version of the Mite division which involves travel throughout the Lower Mainland for games and tournaments and includes more practices and development clinics.
The focus is still on fun and Fair Play and players will start to develop into certain positions (e.g. Pitchers and catchers).
For those unsure about what the U11-Rep program is and if it would be a good fit for your child or you as a coach, here are a few details:
- The team(s) are determined through try-outs only.
- We will determine the number of teams we will run based on the talent that attend try-outs but the intent is to run 2.
- Once team(s) are selected, they will have a team practice, plus have batting practice, and pitching practice once a week, starting in October.
- Our U11-Rep (Langley Wild) team(s) will play in the Lower Mainland U11-Rep division, with games across the region, on Monday & Wednesday evenings.
- There will be tournaments and extra practices during the spring season. The year end tournament format is to be determined.
- The U11-Rep division plays using U13 rules, which include player-pitch ONLY.
Birth Years: 2015 & 2016
Game Days: Mondays & Wednesdays
Game Times: 6:30pm – approximately 8pm. (Coaches will expect players there a minimum of 30 minutes before game time)
Equipment Required: Softball Cleats (soccer ones are fine), baseball glove, helmet WITH CAGE.
If a player would like to try the back-catcher position they will also need a Jill.
There are 2 registration links below - for the 2 day clinic/meet & greet and for try outs.
NOTE:
Registration for the clinic and try-out is mandatory. No walk-ups will be allowed. Please be prepared to drop off your child as there may not be room for parent spectators in the gym. Have your child wear running shoes, bring glove, bat, infielders mask and a water bottle. *if you don't have a infielders mask the association will bring extras for you to borrow during the sessions.
We have not yet set head coaches for our team(s) as we will be waiting until we see the interest in our Langley Wild program before we determine the number of teams and coach roles.
Our coach registration is still OPEN and we encourage people to apply as a Head and/or Assistant coach. Apply here: https://forms.gle/3UFmvkfvwwsUFYos9
