VOLUNTEERING
Amateur athletics benefits the community as a whole, strengthening community and social ties.
Like most organizations, Langley Fastball Association relies on dedicated volunteers in order to offer the very best programs possible.
All of our participants are required to provide a minimum of 4 volunteer hours to aid in the success of our programs. Sign up for volunteer hours is done during registration, through the automated registration system.
It is YOUR responsibility to make sure your 4 hours of Association volunteering is completed. Please check back often for new opportunities:
**Please note: Only the volunteer opportunities listed count towards your 4 hours. Team responsibilities do not count towards your time.**
All coaches, managers, treasurers, and anyone else with access to personal member information MUST complete a RCMP Criminal Record Check every 3 years IF a volunteer disclosure form is filled out every year.
Please make sure your Criminal Record/Disclosure process is up to date, as soon as possible.
Below are a few notes about the Volunteer program
Volunteer Deposit Information:
- Volunteer deposits in the amount of $150 are required for all players registered in U7 and up. Parents will be given the option to pay the opt-out fee of $150 instead of completing volunteer hours.
- Credit card authorizations must be submitted at (or prior to) Uniform Hand Out for all house teams, and via team manager for all Rep teams. The 2026 Credit Card Authorization form may be found below.
- Uniforms will NOT be handed out to any house player who has not submitted their volunteer deposit.
- In the event that a family wishes to submit a cheque instead of a credit card authorization, we will accept those at Uniform Handout. They must be dated April 15th 2026 and payable to “Langley Fastball Association.”
- Each player is required to complete 4 volunteer hours. This is usually equivalent to one volunteer shift. There is a maximum required 8 hours per family (so if a single family has 3 children registered in the same season with LFA, the third child is exempt from volunteer hour completion.)
- Your volunteer deposits will not be cashed if you complete, in full, your required 4 hours per player (or 8 hours per family) at your chosen shift and date.
- If you do not show up for your scheduled shift, we will process your deposit immediately.
Volunteer Shifts:
- You are responsible for making sure you complete your volunteer shift and it is your responsibility to be aware of when it is.
- Each player must complete 4 volunteer hours per season, to a maximum of 8 hours per family. This applies to all players registered in U7 and above.
- Prior to the beginning of the season, and many times throughout the season, we will email a link to Sign-Up Genius to all association members. All shifts will be listed there and updated as they become available. Please choose the shift that works best for you, make a note of it in your personal calendar, and save the confirmation email that is auto-generated by Sign-Up Genius. LFA is not responsible for reminding you about your shift.
- Should you need to change your shift, you must give us at least 48 hours’ notice and may do so by emailing our Volunteer Coordinator, Lisa, at lfavolunteerco@gmail.com.
- If you do not show up for your scheduled shift, we will process your deposit immediately.
If you are able to commit to more, or offer unique skills or services that are not listed please email our volunteer coordinator directly at lfavolunteerco@gmail.com
